「窓と間戸の狭間で」

日本における「まど」は本来、柱と柱の間の戸、すなわち「間戸」として認識されてきた。一方で、西洋における「まど」は壁が最初にあり、そこに穴をあける「窓」として認識されてきた。2つの「まど」の在り方を再解釈することで「まど」から広がる暮らしを考える。「間戸」と「窓」の間をグラデーショナルに構成し、内と外の関係だけではなく、室やモノ、人との関係を「まど」を通して紡ぐ住まいとする。住まい手が人やモノ、外部環境との距離を測り、その時々で居心地の良い居場所を探しながら暮らす風景をつくりだす。

"Mado" in Japan was originally recognized as a door between pillars, that is, a "mado". On the other hand, "Mado" in the West has a wall first, and has been recognized as a "window" to make a hole in it. By reinterpreting the two "madoka", we will think about the lifestyle that spreads from the "madoka". The space between the "mado" and the "window" is gradually constructed, and not only the relationship between the inside and the outside but also the relationship between the room, things, and people is spun through the "madoka". Residents measure the distance to people, things, and the external environment, and create a landscape where they can live while searching for a comfortable place to live.
