「都市のトオリニワ」

敷地:京都市 四条河原町

 

最も繁華な交差点の一つである四条河原町の一角に、京都の「新しい顔」となる伝統産業振興施設と美術館の複合施設を設計した。

都市スケールでは「両側町」、建築スケールでは「通り庭」に注目し、都市のオモテとウラを繋ぐ廊下と展示・販売空間の関係性に昇華した。

都市コンテクストを抽出することで、人の振る舞いが創る新たな「京都のファサード」を目指した。

 

Program:Commercial Facilities + Art Museum

 

Site:Shijo-Kawaramachi, Kyoto City

 

At a corner of Shijo-Kawaramachi, one of the busiest intersections in the city, I designed a complex facility for the promotion of traditional industries and an art museum that will become the "new face" of Kyoto.

Focusing on the "double-sided town" from the urban scale and the "street garden" from the architectural scale, I translated these into the relationship between the corridor connecting the front and back of the city and the exhibition and sales space.

By extracting the urban context, I aimed to create a new "facade of Kyoto" created by human behavior.
