The inner lake, which once functioned as a living area for the surrounding community, was transformed into farmland when half of the lake was reclaimed due to food shortages in the postwar period. The solid lines of its urban planning and land scale are the embodiment of the invisible boundaries between the villages that have existed for centuries. The construction of a solid structure was built against this line, which has multiple layers of meaning: on the one hand, it is a swamp, a place where various organisms live, on the other hand, it is a place of artificial development, and it is the boundary between settlements.
The construction of the structure, which appears to be an excess protruding from the earth, creates a clear difference between the organically connected objects and brings them face to face with each other.
The moment a large opening appears in this massive space, the swamp, self, and paddy field are connected. The repetition of connection and disconnection between the artificial and the natural encourages the recalling of the invisible, and the repetition of the other side and the self occurs, giving a strong sense of boundary.
Through the special environment created by the disconnection, I aimed to create a place where people can act as if they are communicating with each other while going back and forth between the back and front.
